About the Role
About the role: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Rotherham from September 2026 on a long-term, full-time basis, working closely with children who have a range of additional needs. The successful candidate must be comfortable providing personal care when required and be committed to supporting pupils’ academic, social and emotional development. Flexibility is essential, as the role will also include supporting classes across the school as a General Teaching Assistant when needed. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs. Support children within a small nurture hub setting. Assist with personal care needs in a dignified and professional manner. Promote engagement, independence and positive behaviour. Work collaboratively with teachers and SENCOs to support learning outcomes. Support whole-class activities and general classroom duties as required. Maintain a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment. Pre-requisites: Previous experience working with children, ideally within an SEN setting. A caring, patient and adaptable approach. Confidence supporting pupils with a range of additional needs. Willingness and ability to provide personal care. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Flexibility to work across both SEN and mainstream classroom environments. An enhanced DBS Check registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one Two school-based references
