Laser Sort Operator – 1st Shift
Are you detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and looking for a rewarding opportunity in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? We are seeking a dedicated Laser Sort Operator to ensure quality control and efficient sorting of components. This role plays a vital part in maintaining our high standards for product excellence and customer satisfaction.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform visual inspection of barrels, including a five-board check, to verify parts meet quality standards.
- Properly set up and operate laser sorting machines, selecting the right equipment for each task.
- Accurately barcode label jugs and skids to ensure traceability.
- Fill, operate, and maintain machines while keeping packing supplies stocked.
- Manage paperwork such as QSF073 and QSF006 for each barrel and machine.
- Safely operate a forklift to move products and materials within the facility.
- Properly sort and disposition acceptable parts into jugs, boxes, or transfer to Packing or Inspection areas.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols.
Required Skills:
- Strong attention to detail with excellent visual acuity.
- Ability to operate machinery and perform quality checks.
- Basic forklift operation experience.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Physical stamina: able to stand 100%, walk 75%, bend 75%, stoop 50%, sit 25%, climb 25%, and manipulate objects with dexterity.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, push up to 400 lbs, and handle materials with care.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Previous experience with laser or automated sorting equipment.
- Knowledge of barcode labeling and inventory paperwork.
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Basic understanding of machine setup and troubleshooting.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing setting is a plus.
