Tax Senior – Central London

About the Firm

An established and growing accountancy and business advisory group is seeking a Tax Senior to join its Central London office. The firm supports SMEs and private clients across the UK through collaborative, client-focused advisory services, with a strong emphasis on professional development and specialist expertise.

The Role

The Tax Senior will manage the tax compliance and advisory requirements of a varied portfolio including individuals, owner-managed businesses, and corporate clients. The successful candidate will have strong technical knowledge of UK taxation and be confident delivering high-quality client service within deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Obtain information from clients and third parties including banks, pension providers, and financial institutions.
  • Prepare and submit personal and business tax returns using tax software.
  • Draft client correspondence outlining tax liabilities and potential tax planning opportunities.
  • Respond to client queries and ensure timely submission of approved returns to HMRC.
  • Calculate tax liabilities and advise clients on payment deadlines, interest, surcharges, and penalties.
  • Advise on pension contribution limits and related tax implications.
  • Review work completed by junior team members and support their training and development.
  • Assist senior stakeholders with technical tax matters and attend client meetings where appropriate.
  • Identify opportunities for additional advisory or project work outside the standard compliance cycle.

Candidate Requirements

  • ATT qualified; CTA qualification preferred.
  • Strong practical and technical UK tax knowledge.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant tax experience.
  • Experience supporting or mentoring junior staff.
