Read More Our Events Open Access Workshop: Trans & Non-Binary Awareness (Online) Book here via Eventbrite What does this workshop cover? Transgender rights have become an urgent political issue. But the transgender community is very diverse and poorly understood after years of misgendering, misinformation and stereotyping. Our training is aimed at those working in the public, private, social purpose and voluntary and community sectors. It is relevant to administrators, practitioners, staff and managers. The overall aim of the course is to help organisations improve the services they deliver to transgender people. This 2.5-hour workshop includes: What is Trans? – trans people from a biological, social and historical viewpoint; Trans lives – What is involved in gender transition, and what issues do trans people face during and after the process? Using the right words – A guide to the complexities of trans language; and Trans people and the law – the Gender Recognition Act, the Equality Act and more. This interactive workshop will have no more than 20 participants, to ensure you get the most out of joining a training course with us, and the session remains engaging and has plenty of time for questions. This workshop will take place online via Microsoft Teams. After completing the workshop, certificates are available on request to celebrate the learning you’ve achieved with us. Please note, places cannot be cancelled once booked, and we are unable to offer refunds. What are Open Access Workshops? Following demand, we designed an offer for individuals to access our standard workshops to support their learning and professional development, as well as for those in smaller organisations who may not have capacity to book our standard team sessions, but would still like to upskill members of staff. This new option will supplement our existing standard training for teams which can be found on our website We are interested in your feedback about this offer, such as future topics and delivery style. You can submit this here: Open Access Workshops – Feedback and Suggestions . Why should I book onto a session with The Diversity Trust? The Diversity Trust has been a longstanding expert in the equalities sector for more than 14-years, giving us a wealth of experience in training clients from grassroots organisations to national and global corporations. All our trainings are delivered by people with lived-experience, ensuring you not only receive in-depth, nuanced, research-based trainings, but your questions can be answered by someone with personal experience of the topic, creating an authentic, genuine, and engaging learning experience.
