We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of English to join a well-regarded secondary school in Folkestone and Hythe. This is a great opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative school environment where high-quality teaching and student progress are highly valued. The successful English Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that help students develop strong reading, writing, and analytical skills. The school encourages creative approaches to teaching and supports staff in delivering lessons that inspire a genuine love of literature and language. Key responsibilities of the English Teacher include: • Planning and delivering engaging English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 • Supporting students in developing their reading, writing, and analytical skills • Assessing and monitoring student progress to ensure continued improvement • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment The ideal English Teacher will have: • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential (applications without QTS will not be accepted) • Previous experience teaching English at secondary level • Strong classroom management and organisational skills • The ability to motivate and engage students of varying abilities • A proactive, flexible, and professional approach to teaching Please be advised that this English Teacher role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
