About the role:

Justteachers are recruiting for one of our partner secondary schools in Huntingdon for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable English Teacher. This ambitious and supportive school is looking to shortlist candidates immediately for a forthcoming September start. The role will initially be offered on a long-term supply basis, with the potential to become a permanent appointment for the right candidate.

As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop strong literacy, communication and analytical skills. You will join a welcoming department committed to promoting a love of reading, writing and literature throughout the school community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Experience teaching English within a secondary school environment
• Strong knowledge of the English curriculum at Key Stages 3 and 4
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons
• Passion for promoting literacy and higher achievement across all abilities
• Assess, monitor and support student progress effectively
• Create a positive classroom environment that encourages learning and participation
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver high-quality educational outcomes
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour, attendance and achievement

Pre-requisites:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Referenceable teaching experience within the last two years
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
• A positive and proactive approach to teaching and learning
