This has created a new opportunity within their procurement department as Global Category Manager Packaging (Plastic, Flexible), stationed at their Global HQ in Amsterdam. Functie
As Global Category Manager Packaging (Plastic, Flexible), you report directly into the Global Procurement Director. In this role, you are responsible for overseeing and managing categories of packaging spend across the group to maximize total cost of ownership savings.
With your 8+ years' experience in sourcing, category & market analyses, and supplier relationship management, you feel comfortable navigating this complex and global position. Getting excited? Then this is the right next step for you.Responsibilities (not limited to)
- Drive standardization within sourcing implementation and execute initiatives to drive savings
- Supplier relationship building, contract and allocation negotiations, performance management
- Spend categorization, analysis, and strategy development within packaging (plastics & flexible materials)
- Actively participate in internal improvement projects, as leader and/or key member
- Be a pivotal part of the team, strong networker to both internal and external stakeholders
- Drive risk management initiatives on pricing, supply, and financial exposure for packaging categories
- Analyze the historical volatility of raw material prices (e.g., polymers, resins)
- Problem-solving mindset and active engagement with suppliers
Profiel
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
- 6+ years of procurement experience within packaging categories (plastics, also printed, flexible materials a must)
- 2+ years in a global category management position
- Proven buying track record in negotiation and supplier relationship management
- Strong communicator, result-driven, and comfortable engaging with internal and external (senior) stakeholders in an international environment
- Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus
- Living in or near Amsterdam, Schiphol, Amstelveen
