About the Role

Job Purpose To provide a high-quality housing management service to tenants and residents, ensuring tenancy sustainment, income collection, and community wellbeing. The Housing Officer will manage a patch of properties, deal with tenancy-related issues, and work closely with internal teams and external agencies to deliver effective housing services. Key Responsibilities Tenancy Management Manage a portfolio of properties and act as the main point of contact for tenants Conduct tenancy sign-ups, reviews, and terminations Investigate and resolve tenancy breaches, including anti-social behaviour Carry out property inspections and estate visits Income & Arrears Management Monitor rent accounts and take action to recover arrears Negotiate and set up payment plans with tenants Support tenants with welfare benefits and financial advice Prepare cases for legal action where necessary Customer Service Respond to tenant enquiries via phone, email, and face-to-face Deliver a high standard of customer service at all times Handle complaints and resolve issues efficiently Safeguarding & Support Identify vulnerable tenants and provide appropriate support or referrals Work with external agencies such as social services, charities, and support providers Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed Partnership Working Liaise with internal departments such as repairs, legal, and allocations Work collaboratively with local authorities and external partners Attend case conferences and multi-agency meetings Compliance & Administration Maintain accurate records and update housing management systems Ensure compliance with housing policies and legislation Prepare reports and documentation as required Key Skills & Experience Experience working in a housing or tenancy management role Knowledge of housing legislation and best practice Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage a caseload and prioritise workload Experience dealing with rent arrears and anti-social behaviour Good IT skills (e.g. Microsoft Office, housing systems) Qualifications (Desirable) CIH qualification or equivalent (desirable) Relevant experience in housing or public sector roles What We Offer Competitive salary Flexible working options Training and development opportunities Pension scheme Eden Brown Synergy is an equal opportunities employer.
