This position involves hospital-based obstetric and gynecological emergency call coverage from July 24 to August 3, 2026. The role includes on-call duties for emergent C-sections, vaginal deliveries, and GYN procedures, with an average of 27 deliveries and 11 C-sections per month. Providers will operate independently within hospital protocols, supported by hospitalist, anesthesiology, and radiology teams available 24/7. Hospital housing is provided, and the schedule is built around on-call coverage with no night shifts outside scheduled periods.

Clinical Scope

  • Provide on-call coverage for emergent C-sections, vaginal deliveries, and GYN procedures
  • Manage basic obstetric cases, including high-risk emergencies with transfers to regional NICUs when needed
  • Support obstetric and gynecological services within hospital protocols
  • Complete documentation and submit case logs from recent deliveries (past 24 months)
  • Support hospital-based obstetric care in a Level 1 nursery setting

Practice Environment

  • EMR: Electronic Medical Records system in place
  • Staffing: Hospitalist, anesthesiology, and radiology support available 24/7
  • Housing: Hospital-provided accommodations in hospital apartments within a 20-minute commute
  • Autonomy: Provider will operate independently within hospital protocols

Requirements

  • Active North Carolina Medical License
  • NC DEA and Medicaid/PECOS enrollment
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in OB/GYN
  • Recent delivery case logs (past 24 months) from hospital setting
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
  • Must be actively delivering babies and comfortable on-call for emergent obstetric procedures
