About the Role
<p>An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with a surgical bias to join a 24-hour RCVS-accredited small animal hospital in Essex. This purpose-built hospital provides cutting-edge care across a broad range of specialisms, including emergency and critical care, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, CT/MRI imaging, hydrotherapy, and physiotherapy.</p>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Perform routine and complex surgeries, including emergency procedures
<li>Manage complex medical cases with clinical autonomy
<li>Participate in a flexible 40-hour rota, including 1 in 4 weekends
<li>Support and collaborate with certificate-holding colleagues across surgery, orthopaedics, cardiology, exotics, and medicine
<li>Mentor and support junior veterinary team members
<li>Contribute to the ongoing development of the hospital’s services and clinical excellence
</ul>
<p><strong>Requirements</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon
<li>Experienced in small animal surgery with a strong medical knowledge base
<li>Interest in laparoscopic surgery beneficial but not essential
<li>Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills
<li>Flexible to work 1 in 4 weekends
<li>Part-time applicants considered if able to cover weekend rota
