The Role<br />
We are seeking a SME-level Data Engineer to support the ingestion of mission-critical and mission-support data sets into a big data environment. This role is pivotal in supporting cyber and network-related missions within military spaces. As a senior member of the team, you will focus on software infrastructure for big-data-scaled ingestion - including understanding new data sources, implementing testing, and establishing monitoring. Additionally, you will lead the department in achieving strategic goals, ensuring data integrity, and fostering a collaborative, innovative work environment.<br />

What You'll Bring<br />
Experience: At least 14 years of experience in Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or Database Engineering. (+4 additional years of relevant experience can substitute for a BS degree).<br />
Technical Core: Fluency in data extraction, custom translation development, and loading (ETL). You should have significant experience with Java (including unit/integration testing), Python, and SQL.<br />
Big Data Tools: Expertise in Apache NiFi (administration and troubleshooting) and data flow solutions like Kafka and AWS S3/SQS.<br />
Infrastructure & DevOps: Proficiency with Linux OS (BASH), Maven, GitLab, and YAML for schema configuration. Experience with Kubernetes and Docker is a plus.<br />
Certification: Must be certified DoD IAT II or higher (Sec+, etc)<br />
Mission Knowledge: Familiarity with cyber/network security operations and various log formats (JSON, XML).<br />
Soft Skills: Ability to lead a department, decompose complex technical problems, and work effectively in Agile environments.<br />
