<p><strong>Veterinary Surgeon – Maternity Cover – 4-Day Week </strong></p>
<p>An exciting opportunity has arisen for a <strong>Veterinary Surgeon</strong> to join a modern, well-equipped small animal practice in <strong>South London</strong>. This full-time maternity cover role offers a great work-life balance and the chance to be part of a friendly, supportive, and forward-thinking team.</p>
<p><strong>The Role:</strong><br />
This position would suit a vet with an interest in <strong>ultrasound</strong> or soft tissue surgery who enjoys a collaborative, varied caseload. You’ll work alongside an experienced team of three vets, including a Lead Vet currently pursuing a surgical certificate, plus a strong nursing and front-of-house team supported by a dedicated Practice Manager.</p>
<p><strong>Rota & Hours:</strong></p>
<ul>

<p>4-day working week</p>
<li>
<p>1 in 6 full weekends (at a nearby 24-hour hospital)</p>
<li>
<p>No out-of-hours duties</p>
</ul>
<p><strong>The Practice:</strong><br />
Spread across three spacious floors, the practice is finished to a high standard and includes:</p>

<p>Digital x-ray and ultrasound</p>
<li>
<p>Two theatres and large prep area</p>
<li>
<p>In-house laboratory</p>
<li>
<p>Three consult rooms</p>
<li>
<p>Relaxed, comfortable staff room for downtime</p>
</ul>
<p>Located in <strong>South London</strong>, the clinic is well connected via the London Overground, Thameslink, and Southern Rail, with easy access to central London.</p>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Provide excellent clinical care during consultations and procedures</p>
<li>
<p>Build strong client relationships through clear, empathetic communication</p>
<li>
<p>Collaborate effectively with colleagues to deliver exceptional patient outcomes</p>
<li>
<p>Support the wider team with mentorship and case discussions</p>
<li>
<p>Maintain high standards of compliance and record keeping</p>
</ul>
<p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>
<p>RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon</p>
<li>
<p>Confident in routine medical and surgical cases</p>
<li>
<p>Strong communication and teamwork skills</p>
<li>
<p>Experience or interest in ultrasound desirable</p>
<li>
<p>Able to uphold high clinical and client care standards</p>
</ul>
