Interim Non-profit Accounting Manager

<p>Cherry Bekaert Recruiting is seeking an experienced <strong>Interim Non‑Profit Accounting Manager</strong> to provide hands‑on accounting leadership during a transitional period. This role will oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations, manage and support a small accounting team, and ensure timely and accurate month‑end close activities. Experience with <strong>Dynamics GP (Great Plains)</strong> is a strong plus.</p> <h3>Key Responsibilities</h3> <ul> <li>Oversee and review <strong>month‑end close</strong> activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness</li> <li>Manage and review <strong>bank reconciliations</strong></li> <li>Oversee and maintain <strong>fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules</strong></li> <li>Review <strong>accounts payable</strong> processing, cash disbursements, and vendor reconciliations</li> <li>Supervise and mentor a <strong>Staff Accountant and AP Coordinator</strong>, providing guidance and ensuring workload prioritization</li> <li>Ensure compliance with <strong>non‑profit accounting standards</strong> and internal controls</li> <li>Support audit preparation and respond to auditor requests as needed</li> <li>Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen controls</li> </ul> <h3>Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required</li> <li>5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including <strong>non‑profit</strong> accounting</li> <li>Prior experience in a <strong>managerial or supervisory</strong> accounting role</li> <li>Strong knowledge of <strong>month‑end close, bank reconciliations, AP, and fixed assets</strong></li> <li>Experience with <strong>Dynamics GP / Great Plains</strong> highly preferred</li> <li>Advanced Excel skills</li> <li>Ability to step into an interim role quickly and operate independently</li> </ul> <div><br />  </div>
