Senior QA & Automation Consultant

Summary:
We are seeking a versatile Senior Consultant to serve as a bridge between Quality Assurance and Test Engineering. This hybrid QA/Automation role involves managing the entire testing lifecycle—from developing test strategies to executing automated tests. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with Developers, QA teams, and Software Engineers in Test to design, architect, and implement robust automation solutions that align with broader development objectives. A key focus will be ensuring test frameworks support global risk management initiatives through manual analysis and automation.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a combined QA and Automation role.
- Proven expertise in manual testing, test planning, and defect management.
- Strong proficiency in Core Java, with practical experience developing automation scripts.
- Expertise with Cucumber, Maven, and Git.
- Hands-on experience working in Unix/Linux environments, including log analysis and process management.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, XLR, and Ansible.
- Cloud experience, particularly with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), is highly desirable.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Excellent collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues independently.
- Prior experience in financial services, trading platforms, or risk management technology is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans covering functional, system, integration, and regression testing.
- Take ownership of defect identification, troubleshooting, and resolution.
- Maintain and improve regression test suites to ensure stability during continuous delivery cycles.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and test engineering teams to design scalable, maintainable automation frameworks.
- Write high-performance, modular automation scripts following best practices in clean code principles.
- Use Cucumber to develop clear, human-readable test scenarios.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Linux command-line tools for environment setup and log analysis.
- Manage and optimize automation pipelines within CI/CD platforms, including cloud integrations where applicable.
