About the Role

Liverpool City Council is seeking dedicated and skilled Qualified Social Workers to join our Adult Social Care team. You will contribute to delivering high-quality, person-centred care, safeguarding, and support planning for adults with care and support needs. You will work as part of an integrated team to continuously improve outcomes, ensuring service users receive the right support at the right time. Key Responsibilities: Manage a complex caseload, including assessments, care planning, and reviews. Undertake work within legislative frameworks, preparing reports for courts as required. Make complex decisions and manage risks to ensure best outcomes for service users. Work collaboratively with service users, families, carers, advocates, and health partners. Lead safeguarding enquiries and ensure outcomes are recorded and shared appropriately. Maintain high-quality records and manage resources effectively. Support and supervise students, apprentices, or colleagues where required. Participate in integrated teams, including allied health professionals (AHP), and AMHP duties if qualified. Qualifications & Experience: DipSW, BA, or MA in Social Work (or equivalent, with qualification completion within 5 months of application). Social Work England registration (or pending within 5 months). Applied knowledge of Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Mental Health Act 1983. Experience completing assessments and support plans, using IT systems such as Liquid Logic. Skills & Abilities: Excellent communication and organisational skills. Ability to manage fluctuating caseloads effectively. Strong partnership working and collaborative approach. Resilient, flexible, and able to work under pressure. Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion. Desirable: Experience working with multi-cultural communities. Knowledge of assessment frameworks and reflective practice.
