About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Credit Controller to join our finance team within a fast-paced fleet business. This role is critical in ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices, maintaining strong customer relationships, and supporting healthy cash flow across the organisation.<br><br><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong><ul><li>Manage and maintain the sales ledger, ensuring all accounts are accurate and up to date</li><ul><li>Proactively chase outstanding debt via phone, email, and written communication</li><li>Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to resolve payment queries efficiently</li><li>Monitor customer credit limits and assess risk, escalating concerns where necessary</li><li>Allocate incoming payments and reconcile customer accounts</li><li>Investigate and resolve invoice disputes in collaboration with internal teams (operations, billing, customer service)</li><li>Produce regular aged debt reports and provide updates to senior management</li><li>Support month-end processes, including reporting and ledger close activities</li><li>Assist in improving credit control procedures and cash collection strategies</li></ul></ul><br><strong>Requirements</strong><br><ul><li>Previous experience in a Credit Controller or Accounts Receivable role (ideally within fleet, logistics, or service-based environment)</li><ul><li>Strong communication and negotiation skills</li><li>Ability to manage a high volume of accounts in a fast-paced setting</li><li>Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills</li><li>Confident using accounting systems and Excel</li><li>Proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team</li></ul></ul><br><strong>Desirable</strong><br><ul><li>Experience working within a fleet, automotive, or transport business</li><ul><li>Familiarity with high-volume invoicing and contract-based billing</li><li>Understanding of credit risk and collections strategies</li></ul></ul><br><strong>What’s on Offer</strong><br><ul><li>Competitive salary and benefits package</li><ul><li>Supportive and collaborative team environment</li><li>Opportunity to work within a growing fleet business</li><li>Career development and progression opportunities</li></ul></ul>
