About the Role

<p>An established firm of accountants based in Leicester are looking to hire a job vacancy for a mixed Bookkeeper and Payroll position, to work out of their office in Leicester due to expanding workloads and growth of the firm. The role is open to part-time and full-time candidates and the salary is dependent on experience. </p> <p><strong>**There are also separate jobs, which are fully focused on either Bookkeeping or Payroll, so please apply if you want a blended payroll &amp; bookkeeping job or one which is fully focused on bookkeeping or payroll.</strong></p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Benefits:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Competitive salary in-line with market rate</li> <li>25 days holiday Bank Holidays</li> <li>Free parking</li> <li>Flexible working patterns available </li> <li>Company pension</li> <li>Great work life balance</li> <li>Available for part-time or full-time applicants (minimum of 28 hours per week) </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Responsibilities: </strong></p> <p><strong>Payroll Duties:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Processing payrolls for multiple clients across various pay frequencies.</li> <li>Managing tax codes, deductions, statutory payments (e.g., SSP, SMP), and other regulatory requirements.</li> <li>Preparing salary payment instructions.</li> <li>Administering pension contributions and auto-enrolment responsibilities.</li> <li>Submitting information accurately to HMRC and ensuring compliance with payroll legislation.</li> <li>Communicating with clients and relevant external authorities as necessary.</li> </ul> <p><strong><br /> Bookkeeping Duties:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Performing day-to-day bookkeeping tasks for a range of clients.</li> <li>Conducting bank reconciliations and processing financial transactions.</li> <li>Preparing and submitting VAT returns, including compliance with Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements.</li> <li>Recording payroll journals and assisting with account reconciliations.</li> <li>Producing client reports and supporting other team members where needed.</li> <li>Liaising with clients to obtain financial information and resolve queries.</li> </ul>
