Senior Architect / Design Manager Role Summary Location: Central London – Office & Site-based, 5 days/week Senior Architect / Design Manager Role – HAUS Careers is proud to represent a highly respected private architecture and construction business delivering some of London's most prestigious developments. With an expanding portfolio of luxury 5-star hotels, mixed-use schemes and high-value commercial projects, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Architect / Design Manager to join their growing in-house team. This is an exciting opportunity for either an established Design Manager or a technically strong Senior Architect looking to make the move from architectural practice into a client-side role. About the Senior Architect / Design Manager Role Working closely with the directors, consultants and construction teams, you will take ownership of design coordination throughout the delivery process, ensuring projects move seamlessly from technical design through construction and completion. Rather than leading concept design, your focus will be on technical excellence, buildability and ensuring every detail is coordinated before it reaches site. You'll act as the bridge between the design and construction teams, reviewing technical information, resolving design issues and maintaining the exceptionally high standards expected across every project. This is a highly collaborative role requiring regular site attendance, close communication with contractors and consultants, and the confidence to challenge, coordinate and drive projects forward. Key Responsibilities Lead design coordination across complex UK construction projects from Stage 3 through to completion Review, coordinate and manage architectural and consultant information throughout the delivery process Work closely with contractors, consultants and internal teams to resolve technical and construction issues Ensure drawings, specifications and technical packages are fully coordinated before construction Attend regular site meetings, monitor construction progress and provide technical guidance throughout delivery Maintain quality, programme and design intent throughout all stages of construction Review RFIs, technical queries and design changes, ensuring practical and commercially appropriate solutions Mentor junior team members and contribute to maintaining high technical standards across the business Key Requirements ARB-registered Architect or equivalent technical construction professional Significant post-qualification UK experience on mid to large-scale construction projects Strong technical architectural background with excellent construction knowledge Extensive experience delivering projects through RIBA Stages 3, 4 and 5 Proven site experience with confidence working alongside contractors and consultants Excellent understanding of UK Building Regulations, construction detailing and technical coordination Strong Revit knowledge with experience reviewing and coordinating technical drawing packages Able to identify risks, solve technical problems and make informed delivery decisions Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Experience within hospitality, residential, commercial or mixed-use developments would be advantageous What's on Offer Full-time, permanent position based in Central London Office and site-based role with no hybrid working Standard working hours of 9am–6pm with a genuine commitment to work-life balance Opportunity to work on prestigious luxury hotel and landmark development projects Join a growing, family-run business with an impressive long-term project pipeline Work directly with experienced developers, consultants and construction professionals on high-profile schemes Excellent opportunity for a Senior Architect looking to transition into a client-side Design Management career Long-term career progression within a stable and ambitious organisation This role would suit a technically accomplished Senior Architect who enjoys construction, coordination and problem-solving more than pure design.
