About the Role
Sirius Staffing is seeking a Laboratory Associate to join an Investigative Sciences (Toxicology) Group at a research facility located in Newark, DE. The successful candidate will conduct routine research laboratory activities and information/data management activities in support of research and development with guidance from a Senior Laboratory Associate and within established procedures. Working in an interdisciplinary team environment, the successful candidate will identify and suggest improvements in methods, plan projects of limited duration and scope, and troubleshoot experiments when erroneous or unexpected results occur. Responsibilities will also include utilizing a variety of techniques, effectively documenting findings and communicating results produced from research experiments and/or information/data management. Responsibilities: Perform in vitro mammalian cell-based assays (endocrine, metabolism, etc.)Assist in research project design and data interpretation of in vitro toxicology assaysPerform tube and multi-well plate-based assays, including receptor binding, inhibition and enzymatic assaysPerforming extraction procedures and sample analysis via LC/MS Perform tissue homogenization procedures Prepare buffers, basic wet chemistry calculations and serial dilutionsConduct statistical analysis of data and preparation of reports or research papers based on the results of the assays performedWrite and revise technical documents including lab standard operating procedures (SOPs) and testing protocolsSchedule maintenance or repair for lab equipment, order lab supplies and routine safety inspectionsRequired Education: M.S. or B.S. degree in biology, microbiology, biochemistry, chemistry or related science fieldMinimum of 3 years of relevant experience in an industrial laboratory environment.Qualifications: Formal training working with various cell lines in culture (aseptic technique)Strong computer software skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office and scientific graphing software such as PRISM or OriginExperience with LC/MS quantitative analysisExperience with UV spectrophotometers, and UV/fluorescence/luminescence plate readers Strong interpersonal skills including networking ability with the desire to contribute towards team successExcellent oral and written communication skillsExcellent project management skillsAdditional Beneficial Experience Familiarity with GLP guideline studiesAutomation of analyses, familiarity with roboticsExperience working with radio-labeled materialsExperience working with Biosafety Level 2 (BSL2) materials Sirius Staffing Inc. is an equal-opportunity employer.
