About the role:
We are seeking a passionate Pastoral Head of Year to join a highly regarded secondary school in Salford. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in supporting the wellbeing, behaviour, attendance, and personal development of students. Working closely with staff and parents, you will provide strong pastoral leadership, helping to create a positive and inclusive environment where every student is encouraged to thrive academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the pastoral care, wellbeing, and personal development of students within the year group.
- Monitor attendance, behaviour, and academic progress, implementing support where required.
- Build positive relationships with students, parents/carers, and staff to promote student success.
- Work closely with school teams and external agencies to ensure students receive appropriate guidance and support.
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching in a secondary school setting.
- Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills.
- Experience as a Form Tutor, Pastoral Lead, Year Leader, or similar pastoral role.
- Good understanding of safeguarding, attendance, and student welfare.
- Ability to work effectively with parents, staff, and external agencies.
- Strong organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
