Compensation: Targeting $90–110/hour

A rapidly growing, private equity-backed healthcare services organization is seeking a hands-on Interim Controller to step into a critical accounting role due to a resignation. This is an immediate need with the opportunity to overlap with the outgoing Controller to ensure a smooth knowledge transfer.

This organization operates on a national scale, delivering physician-led services in post-acute care settings, and has experienced strong growth through both organic expansion and acquisitions.

Position Overview

This role will serve as a hands-on accounting leader, partnering closely with the CFO to manage day-to-day accounting operations and support private equity reporting requirements. The ideal candidate has a background in provider or physician services environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and manage day-to-day accounting operations in a highly hands-on capacity
• Lead the month-end close process, including preparation of financial statements
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and oversee journal entries
• Support private equity reporting requirements on a monthly basis using established templates
• Identify and execute accounting clean-up activities where necessary
• Oversee revenue recognition processes, including healthcare-specific considerations (gross to net calculations)
• Partner with third-party vendors overseeing billing and collections functions
• Manage payroll-related journal entries
