School-led partner route Shropshire & Telford Education Partnership (STEP) STEP is a teaching school hub that works in partnership with local schools to support initial teacher training to become an early years, primary or secondary teacher. STEP is an inclusive partnership comprising of Salop Teaching Partnership (STP), The Alliance of Leading Learning (ALL), Shropshire Primary Partnership (SPP) and Severn Training and Schools Alliance (STSA), representing all phases and contexts, including special and alternative provisionals, across Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin.  Each of the partners works with The University of Chester offering the PGCE lead school partner route. The programme enables you to work within a school and train in the classroom supported by qualified teachers and mentors. On successful completion of the lead partner route, you'll be awarded a postgraduate certificate in education (PGCE) and qualified teacher status (QTS). The course takes place at either Ludlow Primary or St Thomas Cantilupe CE Primary and you'll be immersed in school life from the start with support from teachers and university staff. Apprenticeships to teach Do you already work in a Shropshire Council-maintained, voluntary-controlled or community school, and would like to train as a teacher?
