Eden Brown Synergy are currently looking for an experienced and motivated Qualified social worker to join our Adoption Team in Grays, Essex with Thurrock Council. Job Title: QSW - Adoption Team Location: New Road, Grays, Essex, RM17 6SL Pay Rate: Up to £36 per hour Work pattern: A minimum of 2 days a week in the office About the Role: Thurrock Council is seeking a qualified social worker to join our Adoption Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work across the full adoption journey and make a real difference to children and families. Adoption experience is essential. Key Responsibilities: Recruit and assess prospective adopters, including delivering information events and preparing adopters through training. Conduct family finding for children with a plan for adoption and for prospective adopters, supporting them once a child is placed. Support birth parents to understand adoption and its implications. Undertake assessments of need for post-adoption and Special Guardianship Order (SGO) cases. Identify and commission post-order support services. Support adopted adults accessing their birth records. Carry out non-agency and stepparent adoption assessments and prepare reports for court. Develop partnership working with other local authorities and adoption agencies within Adopt East. Requirements: Minimum 3 years post-qualified experience with statutory childcare experience. Proven experience working in an adoption team.
