About the Role

Sirius Staffing is seeking an experienced Senior Analytical Chemist for a temporary assignment in Piscataway, NJ. This role is responsible for analytical method development, laboratory testing, technical documentation, and supporting research and customer projects in a pharmaceutical environment. This position may require handling hazardous waste. Initial and annual training will be provided in hazardous waste management and emergency response. Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, validate, and optimize analytical methods for customer and internal research projects.Perform analytical testing on pharmaceutical samples using a variety of laboratory instrumentation.Prepare technical reports and maintain accurate, organized documentation of analytical methods and test results.Present technical findings and project updates to internal teams.Troubleshoot analytical challenges related to pharmaceutical polymers and solid dosage forms.Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation, including:HPLC (assay, related substances, degradants)USP Dissolution SystemsUV-Vis Spectrophotometers (Varian & Fiber Optic)Content Uniformity SystemsDifferential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC)Optical MicroscopyScanning Electron Microscopy (SEM)FTIR/IR SpectrophotometersMaintain laboratory equipment, instrumentation, and work areas to ensure a clean, organized, and compliant environment.Coordinate with vendors to order laboratory supplies and maintain inventory levels.Environmental Health & SafetySupport industrial hygiene programs to ensure compliance with occupational exposure limits and safety regulations.Promote a strong safety culture by participating in safety committees and site safety meetings.Develop and maintain safety and industrial hygiene procedures and standards.Controlled Substance & Regulatory ComplianceReceive, store, dispense, ship, and maintain records for controlled substances (Schedule II–IV).Manage DEA documentation, including DEA Form 222 and state/federal license renewals.Coordinate controlled substance destruction with authorized reverse distributors.Maintain inventory of controlled substance APIs, excipients, reference standards, and raw materials.Communicate with local and federal DEA representatives as needed.Perform and document quarterly security inspections for controlled substance storage areas.Ensure regulatory compliance and proper security controls for shipping and receiving controlled substances.
