About the Role

Back to careers Military opportunities Those who served, serve us well. Military service members and veterans are an important part of the NRG team, and reflective of our overall support of military hiring initiatives. We’ve long recognized the skills and experience veterans and military service members bring to our organization. Leadership, adaptability, a strong work ethic, integrity, and commitment — valuable attributes in any environment, including the energy industry. Our committment takes hold Here at NRG, we partner with other organizations to ensure we attract, recruit, and employ veterans as part of our workforce. We work with the Department of Defense’s (DOD) SkillBridge program to assist transitioning military service members in building a successful career with us. NRG’s Patrol to Power program Through the Patrol to Power program, NRG and the DOD help transitioning military personnel enter into the workforce by way of a paid internship at an NRG plant or at our corporate office. During their time in the program, veteran interns can showcase their unique perspectives and valuable skillsets in critical roles within our company. Meet our Patrol to Power recruits This video takes a closer look at the program and highlights a day in the life of a Patrol to Power intern. To be eligible, service members must participate within 180 days from separation of service. Fostering a supportive veteran culture We’re committed to providing veterans opportunities to help them take the next step in their careers, but once they’re here, we believe it’s just as important to support them with a work environment that makes them feel right at home.
