Mechanical Technician

Abatec are proud to be partnered with a well-established and respected manufacturer within the agricultural equipment sector, who is looking to recruit a Mechanical Technician to join their production team.

This is a hands-on role focused on the mechanical assembly of specialist machinery. If you have experience building machines, working with mechanical systems, and take pride in high-quality workmanship, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

The Role

As a Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for assembling and building specialist machinery to precise specifications, ensuring all components are fitted and functioning correctly.

Your duties will include:

• Mechanical assembly of machines and sub-assemblies
• Using hand and power tools to assemble and secure components
• Interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Carrying out quality checks and ensuring builds meet company standards
• Identifying and resolving mechanical faults during assembly
• Maintaining a clean and safe working area in line with company procedures

About You

We are looking for someone practical, reliable, and mechanically minded who enjoys hands-on work.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience in mechanical assembly or machine building
• Knowledge of metal fabrication or extrusion processes (desirable)
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Experience using hand and power tools confidently
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• A team-focused approach with a strong commitment to safety and quality
• Reach Truck Licence advantageous
