About the Role

<h1>Senior Sustainability Consultant &#8211; Environmental and Wellbeing Certifications</h1> <p>London | £45,000 &#8211; £55,000 (dependant on experience) | Hybrid (Post probation)</p> <h2>Overview</h2> <p>We are seeking an experienced <strong>Senior Sustainability Consultant</strong> to lead and grow our clients Environmental and Wellbeing Certifications team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional with expertise in <strong>BREEAM</strong>, <strong>WELL</strong>, and <strong>LEED</strong> certifications to take on a leadership role within a dynamic and collaborative environment. The successful candidate will oversee a team of four consultants, primarily focused on building certifications, while also contributing to the strategic development of the team&#8217;s services.</p> <p>This role is ideal for someone with <strong>5+ years of experience</strong> in sustainability consulting who is looking to step into a leadership position. My client is looking for someone who is knowledgeable, approachable, and eager to mentor junior team members while delivering high-quality results for our clients.</p> <h2>Benefits</h2> <ul> <li>36-hour work week.</li> <li>26 days of annual leave, plus a volunteer day.</li> <li>Pension contribution.</li> <li>Access to a company healthcare scheme.</li> <li>Long-term sickness insurance.</li> <li>Mental health support services.</li> <li>Opportunities for formal and informal training.</li> <li>Clear career development pathways.</li> </ul> <h2>Day-to-Day</h2> <ul> <li>Work primarily in the office to foster collaboration, cross-team communication, and mentorship opportunities.</li> <li>Lead team meetings, provide technical guidance, and oversee project progress.</li> <li>Support junior team members in their professional development and certification training.</li> <li>After the probation period, transition to a hybrid working pattern of <strong>four days in the office</strong> and one day remote.</li> <li>Engage with clients to provide expert advice and ensure project success.</li> </ul> <h2>Responsibilities</h2> <h3>Team Leadership, Development &amp; Strategy</h3> <ul> <li>Lead, mentor, and develop a team of sustainability consultants specializing in environmental and wellbeing certifications.</li> <li>Provide technical guidance on <strong>BREEAM</strong>, <strong>WELL</strong>, and other relevant certification schemes.</li> <li>Support the professional growth of team members through training and accreditation opportunities.</li> <li>Manage team workload, project allocation, and ensure quality assurance of deliverables.</li> <li>Collaborate with other team leaders to grow and diversify the team&#8217;s workload.</li> <li>Contribute to proposals and develop strong client relationships.</li> <li>Oversee financial forecasting and invoicing for the team.</li> </ul> <h3>Project Oversight</h3> <ul> <li>Manage the delivery of <strong>BREEAM</strong> and <strong>WELL</strong> certification projects across a diverse portfolio of developments.</li> <li>Provide senior technical review and strategic direction during key project stages.</li> <li>Ensure projects meet certification requirements, timelines, and quality standards.</li> <li>Act as a senior point of contact for clients, offering expert advice on environmental and wellbeing certification strategies.</li> </ul> <h2>Qualifications</h2> <ul> <li>Degree in sustainability, environmental engineering, architecture, building services, or a related discipline.</li> <li><strong>5+ years&#8217; experience</strong> in sustainability consulting within the built environment.</li> <li>Accredited <strong>BREEAM Assessor/AP</strong> and/or <strong>WELL AP</strong> (or equivalent).</li> <li>Proven experience delivering certification projects and leading or mentoring teams.</li> </ul> <h2>Skills</h2> <ul> <li>Strong leadership and team development capabilities.</li> <li>In-depth knowledge of <strong>BREEAM</strong>, <strong>WELL</strong>, and environmental performance standards.</li> <li>Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.</li> <li>Ability to guide multidisciplinary teams through sustainability certification processes.</li> </ul> <p>If you are passionate about sustainability and have the expertise to lead a team delivering <strong>BREEAM</strong>, <strong>WELL</strong>, and <strong>LEED</strong> certifications, we encourage you to apply.
