About the Role
<p>An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a busy, modern practice in Essex. This role is ideal for motivated, senior vets who enjoy clinical leadership, managing a varied caseload, and working closely with a supportive, close-knit team.</p>
<p>
<strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Deliver high-quality medical and surgical care, including routine neutering, mass removals, dentistry, basic ophthalmic surgery, and emergency procedures
<li>Support and mentor junior colleagues, contributing to team development
<li>Participate in 1:4 weekend rota (flexible hours, 9am–7pm)
<li>Collaborate with visiting certificate holders in surgery and other specialisms
<li>Develop your areas of interest with full support for CPD and certificates
<li>Maintain excellent client communication and ensure a high standard of patient care
</ul>
<p>
<strong>Requirements</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon
<li>Ideally 3–4 years’ experience in small animal practice in the UK
<li>Confident with routine surgeries, consults, and general practice medicine
<li>Previous leadership or clinical lead experience is desirable
<li>Full-time (3–4 days/week) with flexibility to work across weekends
<li>No OOH responsibilities and minimal bank holiday work
<li>Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
