Senior Highway Engineer – Highways

Our client who is a UK leading consultancy are looking for a Senior Engineer to join their Highway Design team based in Manchester. For this role you would be degree qualified and have significant experience in the design and maintenance of major highways. You would also be experienced in the use of AutoCAD, MX and Civil 3D. Within this role you would work on local, national and international projects assisting the Project Manager in the design development of major highway schemes. Your main duties/responsibilities will include: Production of technical design information including, drawings and specifications Ensuring compliance with all relevant technical standards Identification and management of project risks Delivery of all specified project outcomes on time, within budget and to the quality required Writing and overseeing the preparation of contract documents and technical reports as required Coaching, mentoring and developing junior staff Managing and developing both internal and external client relationships Identification and management of project risks Managing the workload and the technical management and oversight of design team members Preparation of designer’s risk assessments Technical management of medium sized projects or tasks Work collaboratively with colleagues and clients, using tools for information sharing such as Business Collaborator and ProjectWise Writing and overseeing the preparation of contract documents and technical reports
