A fast-growing, tech-driven healthcare platform is seeking a Staff Data Scientist (AI/ML) to help build and scale next-generation AI products that support medical professionals at scale.
This is a high-impact, hands-on role at the intersection of machine learning, product, and large-scale healthcare data, ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex problems and driving real-world impact.
The Opportunity
You’ll work with massive, real-world datasets to design, optimize, and evaluate AI-driven products used by healthcare professionals nationwide. This role sits close to product and leadership, with the opportunity to influence both technical direction and product strategy.
What You’ll Do
- Build, train, and optimize machine learning and AI models powering core product features
- Work with large-scale datasets to generate insights and improve model performance
- Partner with product, engineering, and analytics teams to define and execute data-driven initiatives
- Design and implement experimentation frameworks to evaluate model and product performance
- Translate complex technical outputs into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders
- Contribute to the broader data and AI strategy, helping shape future product direction
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or related roles working with large, complex datasets
- Strong foundation in statistics, including experimentation, probability, and exploratory analysis
- Hands-on experience building and deploying machine learning models in production
- Experience with modern ML techniques, including deep learning and LLMs (e.g., fine-tuning, evaluation)
- Proficiency in Python and SQL, with strong coding and data manipulation skills
- Experience with scalable data processing (e.g., distributed systems, large-scale pipelines)
- Ability to communicate technical insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong product mindset with a focus on driving measurable impact
Why This Role?
- Work on AI products with real-world healthcare impact
- Access to large-scale, proprietary datasets
- Highly collaborative, product-driven environment
- Opportunity to shape AI strategy at scale
- Competitive compensation: $170K–$248K total comp (base + equity)
Ideal Candidate Profile
This role is best suited for someone who:
- Has actually built and deployed ML/AI systems, not just analyzed data
- Understands how to take models from concept ? production ? impact
- Enjoys working cross-functionally with product and engineering
- Is excited about applying AI to meaningful, real-world problems
