Job Role: 3rd Line Support EngineerLocation: Peterborough/HybridSalary: £50,000 - £55,000 If you're the person everyone turns to when things get tricky, the firewall won’t behave, the migration’s wobbling, the network’s doing something strange then this is probably your kind of role.We’re looking for a solid 3rd line engineer. Someone comfortable being the final escalation point. Someone who’s led migrations before. Someone who understands SMB networks inside out, not just in theory, but in the real world.What you’ll be doing:Handling the complex stuff that can’t be fixed at 1st or 2nd lineLeading Microsoft 365 and Azure migrationsConfiguring and troubleshooting WatchGuard firewallsWorking across VLANs, VPNs, Wi-Fi deployments, routing, switchingSupporting and improving Windows Server environmentsDelivering upgrades, rebuilds and infrastructure projectsTalking directly to clients (and explaining things in plain English)Supporting junior engineers when they need helpThe tech stackYou’ll be hands-on with:Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Intune, Autopilot)Azure (IaaS, AVD, Hybrid Join)Windows Server, AD, Group PolicyHyper-VVeeamWatchGuard firewallsRMM tools (N-Able or similar)What we’re really looking for5+ years in IT supportSolid experience in a true 3rd line or infrastructure-focused roleStrong WatchGuard firewall experienceConfident delivering system migrationsA strong grasp of SMB networking and troubleshootingMSP experience — you’re used to juggling prioritiesComfortable speaking to clients at all levelMost importantly, you’ll have real ownership.
