Live-in Housekeeper in the Cotswolds (Ascott-under-Wychwood)

The Role

On behalf of our private clients we are seeking an experienced and discreet Housekeeper/Caretaker to join a private residence in the heart of the Cotswolds (Ascott-under-Wychwood). This is a full-time, live-in position within a well-maintained and welcoming family home, requiring a polished and professional individual who takes genuine pride in their work.

The household is primarily occupied by two principals, with occasional visits from adult family members. The ideal candidate will be intuitive, highly organised, and capable of managing the home independently, ensuring it is maintained to the highest standard at all times while preserving a relaxed and private atmosphere.

This position would suit a dedicated professional seeking a long-term role within a respectful and well-run private household in a beautiful countryside setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver impeccable housekeeping standards throughout the residence
• Manage laundry, ironing, and wardrobe/linen care with attention to detail
• Provide attentive care for the family dogs
• Oversee the day-to-day running and presentation of the property
• Undertake light gardening and general outdoor upkeep
• Assist with informal meal preparation and provide support with dinner service when required
• Ensure the home remains secure, organised, and guest-ready at all times

Candidate Profile

• Demonstrable experience within a private household in a similar capacity
• Naturally discreet, trustworthy, and service-oriented
• A self-starter with excellent organisational skills and a proactive approach
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Confident, hands-on, and adaptable to the needs of the household
• A genuine affinity for dogs and animal care
• Full clean driving licence essential; own vehicle preferred due to rural location
• Basic cooking skills welcomed, though not essential
• Excellent references and a current DBS check required

Accommodation: Private one-bedroom maisonette located within a separate annexe (utilities included)

Salary: £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience

Start Date: ASAP

Unless otherwise specified a minimum of 5 years relevant experience is required to receive the advertised rate of pay
