Staffordshire - Independent Reviewing Officer - CP / LAC Team

Join our dedicated team in Staffordshire as an Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) within the Child Protection (CP) and Looked After Children (LAC) team. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified social worker to make a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable children and young people. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that the needs and rights of children in care are met, while working collaboratively with families, social workers, and other professionals.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Conducting independent reviews of care plans for Looked After Children, ensuring they are appropriate and effective.
• Facilitating meetings and consultations with children, families, and professionals to gather insights and feedback.
• Monitoring and evaluating the quality of care and support provided to children in care.
• Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and local authority policies.
• Providing expert advice and guidance to social workers and other team members, promoting best practices.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
• Registration with Social Work England.
• Extensive experience in child protection and/or working with looked after children.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess complex situations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build rapport with children and families.
