Cost Consultant/Quantity Surveyor

<p>Dove &amp; Hawk are working in partnership with an independent property consultancy with expansion plans in place for this year. They are in the process of hiring a Cost Consultant/Quantity Surveyor at Senior or Associate level with at least 5 years&#8217; PQE for the office based in Central London. This role would suit someone who is comfortable working with commercial property investors, developers, owners and occupiers to deliver a full range of construction projects, from refurbishment schemes to new build developments, across the UK. </p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline"><strong>Duties/Functions of the role:</strong></span></p> <ul> <li>Responsibility for providing advice on a wide range of project types and to a variety of clients many of whom are core clients of the business.</li> <li>Covering full pre and post contract duties on projects, tailored to suit clients&#8217; specific needs.</li> <li>Understanding clients&#8217; strategic objectives and project specific requirements.</li> <li>Preparation of approximate estimates of cost from initial feasibility through to pre-tender stage. </li> <li>Cash flow forecasting. </li> <li>Advising on procurement options</li> <li>Advising on value engineering opportunities</li> <li>Preparation of tender documents with/without quantities</li> <li>Advising on warranties, bonds etc.</li> <li>Managing the tender processes, tender analysis and reporting.</li> <li>Preparing building contracts</li> <li>Valuing variations and negotiating/agreeing final accounts.</li> <li>Working closely with the Building Consultancy, Investment, Agency and Property Management teams, enabling the firm to provide clients with the latest market knowledge.</li> <li>Developing and managing client relationships.</li> <li>Assisting the Director of the department to manage the team in achieving targets.</li> </ul> <p> <span style="text-decoration: underline"><strong>Requirements of the role:</strong></span></p> <ul> <li>MRICS qualified or similar.</li> <li>5+ PQE with a strong understanding of all normal pre-contract quantity surveying functions </li> <li>Strong understanding of standard forms of contract and associated documents, and of contract management/administration processes.</li> <li>Good attention to detail, with a strong numerical and written ability.</li> <li>Able to write clear, concise reports with well-argued conclusions &amp; recommendations. </li> <li>Hold a full UK driving licence.</li> <li>Good knowledge of measurement software and use of on-line portals such as JCT, NBS and BCIS. </li> </ul> <p> <strong>Salary Budgets:</strong> £65-75,000 Basic Salary<br /> Car Allowance Provided, Bonus Scheme, Plus numerous other benefits</p> <p><strong>Required working hours:</strong> Monday to Friday 9am-5:30pm &#8211; THIS ROLE OFFERS HYBRID WORKING</p> <p>If you an experienced Cost Consultant/Quantity Surveyor then we want to hear from you ASAP to discuss your suitability for this role.
