Northampton | 4 on, 4 off (Days & Nights)
Engineered systems. High-stakes environments. Zero margin for error.
If your background sits within automation, aerospace, defence, or the military, you already understand what "critical" really means. This role puts you in an environment where precision, discipline, and technical expertise are essential to keeping complex systems operational.
This is not standard maintenance. You'll be working on highly specialised, process-driven equipment in a clean, controlled, high-tech setting where performance, safety, and uptime are everything.
The opportunity:
Maintain and troubleshoot advanced automated systems and process equipment
Diagnose faults quickly within high-spec, safety-critical environments
Deliver planned and reactive maintenance to maximise operational uptime
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability
Work with specialist gases, chemicals, and controlled processes
Contribute to engineering projects, equipment upgrades, and installations
Provide technical support and mentorship across the shift team
Interface with external suppliers and technical experts
What makes this role different:
Work within a precision-led, high-tech manufacturing environment
Exposure to complex systems not typically found in standard engineering roles
A structured shift pattern offering real work-life balance
A role that values methodical thinking, accountability, and technical depth
What we're looking for:
Background in automation, aerospace, defence, military engineering, or other high-integrity industries
Strong electrical and/or electro-mechanical fault-finding capability
Experience working with PLC-controlled or automated systems
Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and system drawings
Comfortable working within strict safety and compliance frameworks
Engineering qualification (HND, Degree, or equivalent experience)
A calm, logical approach to problem-solving in high-pressure situations
