Electronic Design Engineer

This is a permanent, full-time role based in the Caithness and Sutherland area.
Competitive Salary + Relocation
Working Hours
- Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
- Friday: 8:00am – 12:30pm
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electronic circuits and systems
- Work on battery management systems (BMS) and power electronics applications
- Produce schematics and PCB layouts
- Support testing, prototyping, debugging, and fault-finding activities
- Create and maintain technical documentation
- Collaborate closely with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulations
Skills & Experience Required
- Degree qualified in Electronic Engineering or a related discipline
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in electronic design
- Experience with analogue, digital, and/or power electronics
- PCB design experience using tools such as Altium, OrCAD, or KiCad
- Knowledge of embedded systems and microcontrollers
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Desirable Experience
- Experience with battery systems or Battery Management Systems (BMS)
- Knowledge of regulated or safety-critical industries
- EMC/EMI design and compliance experience
- Embedded C/C++ programming knowledge
