Section / Senior Engineer

SECTION / SENIOR ENGINEER – ROAD & BRIDGE PROJECT 

We're recruiting a Section / Senior Engineer to join a Tier 1 Contractor delivering a major road and bridge infrastructure scheme.

This is a long-term contract opportunity offering stability on a flagship project.

The Role

You'll be responsible for the day-to-day engineering delivery of your section, ensuring works are completed safely, to programme and to the required quality standards. You'll carry out all the usual responsibilities expected of a Section/Senior Engineer on a major highways project.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing engineering activities for your section of works.
• Setting out, QA, record keeping and as-built documentation.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical information.
• Producing RAMS, ITPs and permits where required.
• Managing subcontractors and coordinating site activities.
• Ensuring health, safety, quality and environmental standards are maintained.
• Liaising with site management, design teams and the client.
• Supporting programme delivery and resolving engineering issues.

About You

• Previous experience working as a Section Engineer or Senior Engineer on highways, roads or bridge projects.
• Strong setting out and quality assurance experience.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Able to work collaboratively with site teams and stakeholders.
• Ideally experienced as a Buried Services Coordinator, with knowledge of utility coordination, surveys and avoiding service clashes (desirable but not essential).
• Must live within a commutable distance of the project.
