About the Role
MANTECH seeks a motivated, career-driven, and customer-focused Senior System Administrator to join our team in Columbia, MD.
You will play a critical role in supporting the enterprise infrastructure capabilities for a global, mission-focused workforce. This position supports the high-visibility Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) organization, responsible for the delivery and security of MPO’s Enterprise Information Technology (EIT)—the foundation for enterprise-wide services. As a Senior System Administrator, you will work alongside customers, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and vendors to support the implementation and compliance of advanced EIT capabilities through Data Center & Compute Services.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.
Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring & problem resolution for all the client/server/storage/network devices, etc.
Configure and manage Linux, Windows, and Unix operating systems, installs/loads operating system software and patches to maintain security compliance, troubleshoot, maintain integrity of and configure network components, along with implementing operating system enhancements to improve reliability & performance.
Support the design of systems, mission architecture, and associated hardware.
System monitoring for health and status with monitoring tools like NAGIOS.
Working with STIGs and fixing/updating vulnerabilities with STE/STN findings.
Renew Linux server certificates and applying updates to TLS security versions.
Experience working with ISSOs during SCA (security control assessment) testing to go through over 400 SCTM (security controls traceability matrix).
Working with automation software such as ANSIBLE to streamline updates and patching.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline; an additional 5 years of Systems Administrator experience might be substituted for a degree.
15+ years’ experience as a Systems Administrator.
Knowledge of how to navigate through a Linux based system, and patching & updating Linux distributions regarding security findings.
Renew Linux server certificates & applying updates to TLS security versions.
