We’re partnering with a highly respected structural engineering firm that is expanding into the Arlington, Virginia market with a brand-new office. This is a unique opportunity to join early, work directly with senior leadership, and help shape both project delivery and office culture. The new office offers a beautiful workspace overlooking the Potomac River with views toward the National Mall — designed to be a collaborative, high-end environment for top engineering talent. Lead Projects End-to-End Direct structural projects through all phases — from concept and design to construction administration — with real ownership. High-Level Client Exposure Serve as a primary point of contact, managing relationships and representing the structural discipline with confidence. Technical Leadership & Mentorship Guide project teams, review deliverables, and support the development of junior engineers. What you’ll be doing: - Lead structural design and analysis for building projects - Oversee drawings, calculations, and specifications - Coordinate with architects and multidisciplinary design teams - Manage project schedules, scope, and deliverables - Perform and review seismic and lateral system design (braced frames, moment frames, shear walls) - Support construction administration, RFIs, and site coordination - Maintain strong client communication and relationships What you’ll need: - Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred) - PE license required (SE preferred) - 7+ years of structural engineering experience - Experience managing projects and leading design efforts - Strong background in seismic and lateral system design - Proficiency in ETABS, RISA, RAM, Enercalc, and Revit - Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Compensation & Benefits - $135,000 – $175,000 base salary, depending on experience - 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision coverage - 401(k) with company match - Hybrid flexibility (after onboarding) - Generous PTO plus office closure between Christmas and New Year - Unique perk: access to company-owned vacation property - Long-term growth opportunity within an expanding office If you’re a Senior Structural Engineer / Project Engineer looking for a role that combines leadership, project ownership, and the chance to help build a new office in Arlington, this is a standout opportunity.
