About the Role
We are looking for a Shift supervisor to guarantee that safety, quality, efficiency, delivery and cost objectives connected to shift production activities are achieved, in compliance with Group policies.
shift pattern: 4 on 4 off. 2 day shifts, 2 night shifts and then 4 days off on rotation. We operate 24/7, 365 days a year.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities of the Shift supervisor
People –Production employees directly; Engineers and Warehouse employees on shift indirectly (for co-ordination and immediate prioritisation)
Optimise employee effectiveness via communication, objective setting and training
Lead and supervise personnel via performance management
Leads / participates in investigations
Leads by example in behaviour
Drive the Run to Standards Model
Promotes a safety-focused culture
Promotes Guiding Principles and values
Team Briefs
Training plan and Matrix updates
Involved in the recruitment of new Operators
GMP Audits
Champion ‘Safety Culture’ and be an ambassador for ‘Behavioural Based Safety’.
Report all H&S issues in line with business procedures.
Ensure that products meet required Product Specification.
Inspires employees by creating targets and objectives, providing training and guidance for them to succeed.
Demonstrated the right behaviour and sets the same expectations of their employees, including- Respect, Integrity, Discipline and Routine, Sense of Urgency
Supervises direct reports and uses performance management framework to develop operators skills and knowledge
Promotes innovative solutions to maximize efficiency
Co-operates with maintenance office in order to guarantee the best possible production efficiency
Co-ordination with the other functions in charge of equipment operation
Employees understand the critical success factors to high efficiency are the inputs in Run to Standards.
Controls paper and raw material waste on shift.
Labour Cost control.
Be an active team player engaging in cross functional working across the business, enabling faster decision making, increased innovation and improving problem solving.
Job Requirements
Basic requirements:
Proven experience in a supervisory role within the manufacturing industry.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong organisational skills.
Great attention to detail.
