HERD OPERATIONS MANAGER

Herd Operations Manager On Site: Michigan Our client is a growing multi-site dairy operation seeking a hands-on leader to bridge herd management, feed execution, and operational coordination. This is a new role created due to expansion and growth. Key Responsibilities • Oversee herd health routines and support existing herdsman• Manage feed execution and bunk management• Monitor feeding accuracy + collaborate with nutrition/crop teams• Coordinate across herd, shop/maintenance, and forage teams• Ensure issues are followed through to completion (not just delegated)• Lead and support a predominantly Hispanic labor force• Work directly with ownership to drive performance and efficiency Ideal Background • Experience in dairy herd management• Exposure to feed/bunk management (or strong willingness to learn)• Operational, problem-solving, and leadership mindset• Strong communication + accountability skills• “All hands in” attitude vs. siloed thinking Nutrition knowledge is a plus but not required.
