About the role:
justteachers are seeking a passionate and committed Teacher of English to work within a supportive secondary school in the Harrogate area from September. This supply opportunity would suit an enthusiastic English specialist who can deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 and inspire pupils to develop confidence in reading, writing, analysis and communication. This is a full time, long term supply role offered until October half term in the first instance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4.
- Plan and deliver well-structured lessons that engage learners and support progress.
- Use assessment and feedback effectively to identify gaps and move learning forward.
- Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of pupils of varying abilities, including those with SEND or EAL.
- Support pupils with literacy development, extended writing, text analysis and exam preparation where required.
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching English within a UK secondary school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge across English Language and English Literature.
- Confidence teaching across KS3 and KS4, including GCSE preparation.
- A positive and consistent approach to behaviour management.
