Jasmine Cook, Talent Acquisition Specialist, shares her journey of joining Foot Anstey. As her first experience of working in-house, transitioning into this new environment was a significant change. However, her experience so far has been both rewarding and inspiring.
A standout culture
Since joining Foot Anstey, the firm’s incredible culture has made the biggest impression on me. Starting in December gave me the perfect opportunity to dive straight into festive celebrations, award ceremonies, year-end reflections, and inspiring discussions about what 2025 has in store.
These moments offered me a unique opportunity to connect with people across the firm, learn about the incredible achievements and milestones we’ve celebrated, and gain insight into the exciting vision for the year ahead.
What stood out the most was the genuine sense of community, pride, and forward momentum that radiates across the entire firm.
I was excited (and admittedly a little nervous!) about stepping into a new environment. Now, just a few months in, I’m really enjoying my role and the embracing the workplace culture. I'm thrilled I made the leap and can't wait to see what lies ahead in my journey at the firm.
Building collaborative relationships
One of the first things that struck me in my first few days at Foot Anstey was the opportunity to build meaningful and impactful relationships with hiring managers and teams across the business.
I’ve had the opportunity to sit down with Partners, managers and team members to really understand what they need - not just in terms of technical expertise but also the qualities that define someone who will thrive in our culture. These conversations go far beyond just job descriptions, we're focusing on building teams that reflect the values and ambitions of Foot Anstey which is really inspiring.
Helping to shape the future
One of the most exciting aspects of my role is having a voice in workforce planning and talent attraction strategies. I’m now part of conversations that directly influence the firm’s growth and evolution which is really rewarding. I can't wait to look back in a few years and see the impact I’ve had on various areas of the business, however big or small that may be!
It’s a refreshing change from the transactional nature of agency work, where the focus can sometimes feel limited to securing a placement and moving onto the next vacancy. Here, I’m part of shaping the future of the firm—a responsibility I take great pride in.
An exciting future
The move has offered me an entirely different perspective from previous roles, a deeper connection to my work, and the opportunity to contribute my skills and experience in new ways.
I’m excited about the impact I can have at the firm and about what’s to come as I continue to grow in my new role.
