<p style="font-family:Arial;"> </p><p style="font-family:Arial;"><strong>Respiratory Therapist Assistant</strong></p><p style="font-family:Arial;"><strong>Location- BUMC-Dallas, TX</strong></p><p style="font-family:Arial;"><strong>FT Day/ FT Night</strong></p><p style="font-family:Arial;"> </p><p style="font-family:Arial;"> </p><p><strong>JOB SUMMARY</strong></p><p>The Respiratory Therapist Assistant, under general supervision, performs a variety of technical respiratory therapy treatments to contribute to the delivery of quality patient care.</p><p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE</strong></p><ul><li>Performs a variety of respiratory therapy treatments (including but not limited to PEP, IS, and O2 checks, Incentive Spirometer treatments, and oxygen therapy) in a quality manner and in accordance with established procedures.</li><li>Under general supervision, instructs patients in the use of various treatments in a thorough and professional manner.</li><li>Updates patient records with all therapies provided, and reports all unusual signs, symptoms, or side effects immediately.</li><li>Documents all treatments and therapies given, any supplies used and accurately files all corresponding charges.</li><li>Performs regular cleaning and sterilization of equipment in accordance with established procedures.</li><li>Maintains the proper functioning of oxygen and emergency equipment through daily checks, and notifies staff to order the necessary supplies as needed.</li><li style="color:rgb(224, 62, 45);"><span style="color:#e03e2d;"><strong>Currently enrolled in a Respiratory Care program.</strong></span></li></ul><p><strong>KEY SUCCESS FACTORS</strong></p><ul><li>Basic knowledge of Respiratory Care modalities, therapies, equipment, and medications.</li></ul><ul><li>Must be able to read, write and follow flow chart protocols as appropriate.</li></ul><ul><li>Must be able to communicate thoughts clearly; both orally and in writing.</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to follow established safety, infection control, and isolation procedures at all times.</li></ul><ul><li>Basic computer skills, including but not limited to: data entry, information security, electronic medical documentation, hand-held scanning, and email.</li></ul><p><strong>BENEFITS</strong></p><p>Our competitive benefits package includes the following</p><p>- Immediate eligibility for health and welfare benefits</p><p>- 401(k) savings plan with dollar-for-dollar match up to 5%</p><p>- Tuition Reimbursement</p><p>- PTO accrual beginning Day 1</p><p>Note: Benefits may vary based on position type and/or level</p><b>QUALIFICATIONS</b><br/><br/>- EDUCATION - H.S.
