Seasonal Public Works Maintenance

 

Pay Wage $20.00/hour

This job may work with the Water, Wastewater & Streets Divisions performing a variety of maintenance duties pertaining to the overall operation of Public Works facilities.  This is intended to be a youth job training program, however other applicants will be considered.

 

Essential Duties

Duties include (but are not limited to): 

• mowing,
• painting curbs & sign posts,
• litter pick up & disposal,
• other cleaning,
• inventory,
• weeding & manual labor including lifting & moving heavy materials occasionally

Requires:

• High school diploma or equivalent (ability to read and write the English language);

• Minimum age to apply is 18 due to insurance requirements;

• A valid driver's license & clear driving record;

• Ability to use or learn to use a wide variety of tools and equipment;

• Strong customer service skills;

• Self-motivation and the ability to work with limited supervision;

• Regular and predictable attendance.

 

Physical Requirements: 

• Ability to work in hot, cold, wet, and other unpleasant outdoor conditions;

• Ability to lift 50 pounds;

• Able to have repetitive motion of the hands, wrists, arms;

• Ability to twist, squat, kneel, bend, stand for long periods of time, and jog a short distance.
