Position Overview
The successful candidate is well versed in IBM Cognos Analytics and preferred knowledge of Oracle Projects and other Oracle EBS modules. Working knowledge of accounting and forecasting. This position will be the primary contact for the organization around Cognos Analytics report writer, including design and maintenance of corporate wide Cognos BI reporting. Partner with the internal IT department to troubleshoot database issues as well as issues with 3rd party software. In addition, this role will serve as the Oracle Projects Accounting administrator and provide end-user support and training project functionalities. Provide oversight into project setups, creating budget templates, and functional area reporting requirements. Design and maintain reports to support users' reporting needs. Ensure data integrity of all project reporting. This role will be integral to the growth of the company’s internal financial reporting department and will grow to include additional staff to be trained and mentored to assist with all aspects of Oracle Projects.
A Day In The Life
IBM Cognos Analytics:
Advanced Cognos report development background including drill-through, bursting, dynamic prompts, and complex multi-query joins.
Experience with: Designing, building, and troubleshooting reports, creating dashboards and stories, working with data modules and collaborative analytics features.
Create and update existing financial reports using Oracle Noetix views.
Provide support and training to Cognos users to ensure they have tools and access to complete monthly requirements.
Identify process improvements/enhancements to streamline processes.
Advanced reporting and dashboard creation. • Design complex reports and dashboards • Connect to data sources • Model metadata for analytics • Ability to upgrade from current version Cognos 11.1 to future versions while working with legacy environments.
Oracle Projects:
Administer and configure Oracle Projects Modules.
Assist functional areas with uploading CERs, cost budgets and board approved plans.
Prepare monthly forecast files and provide support for end-user preparation and assist upload.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning of Capex Committee approvals.
Identify process improvements/enhancements to streamline processes.
You'll Come With
5-7 years of experience
Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting or Information Technology
IBM Certified Cognos Analytics Administer or IBM Certified Developer-Cognos Analytics
Required experience in Noetix Report Writing with Custom Views
Required experience in Cognos BI and Cognos Report Writer
Preferred experience in Oracle Financials
Advanced proficiency in Excel
Strong analytical skills
Works independently; needs minimal guidance
