About the Role

<strong>Walker Group </strong>provides advanced high-precision manufacturing services from centres of excellence located in the UK and Poland. Due to ongoing demand, we have an exciting opportunity to join our team in Glasgow as a EDM Engineer.<br><br> As EDM Engineer, you will be responsible for setting up and operating Spark and Wire Erosion machines to perform EDM precision machining operations.<br><br><br> <strong>EDM Engineer Key Responsibilities:</strong><br><ul><li>Oversee Machinery set-up and operate machines</li></ul><ul><li>Loading materials and unloading finished products</li></ul><ul><li>Adjust machine settings as required</li></ul><ul><li>Follow technical drawings working to customer tolerances</li></ul><ul><li>Carefully follow procedures and safety guidelines. Including company procedures, operating standards, and process documentation</li></ul><ul><li>Maintain an accurate log of production and equipment problems, adjustments, and repairs. Machine inspections for mechanical or safety issues</li></ul><ul><li>Ensure machines are well stocked with tooling and material to ensure limited downtime</li></ul><ul><li>Safety focus to ensure themselves and others are safe around operational machinery</li></ul><ul><li>Flexibility to support production requirements during busier periods</li></ul><br><br> <strong>EDM Engineer Skills & Behaviours:</strong><br><ul><li>Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work</li></ul><ul><li>Excellent communication and teamwork skill</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to follow instructions</li></ul><br><br> <strong>EDM Engineer Qualifications & Experience:</strong><br><ul><li>Time served EDM Engineer</li></ul><ul><li>Experience in Spark Erosion & Wire Erosion</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to read technical drawings</li></ul><ul><li>Experience of working to high quality standards on precision components</li></ul><ul><li>Knowledge of safety and manufacturing regulations and procedures</li></ul><br><br> <strong>What’s in it for you?</strong><br><ul><li>Full time, permanent contract, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday on a three-shift rotation, covering early, back and night shift</li></ul><ul><li>Attractive rate of pay plus shift allowance</li></ul><ul><li>You’ll gain access to the following company benefits: pension, life insurance, private medical healthcare, prescription protection eyewear, employee retail discounts</li></ul><ul><li>You will receive 33 days holiday per year which includes a Christmas closure</li></ul><ul><li>Access to online learning platforms to support your development</li></ul><ul><li>You’ll have ample opportunities to grow and develop within the team, while working in a supportive and collaborative environment</li></ul><br><br> <strong>Interested?
