About the role: Justteachers are working in partnership with a friendly and nurturing early years setting in Thetford that is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic EYFS Practitioner to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis from September. This is an exciting opportunity for a caring and committed Early Years Practitioner who is passionate about supporting young children during the most important stage of their development. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues to provide high-quality care and education, helping to create a safe, stimulating, and engaging environment where every child can thrive. The setting prides itself on its warm, inclusive ethos and strong focus on developing children’s confidence, independence, and love of learning through play-based experiences. This role would suit an enthusiastic, patient, and proactive individual who enjoys working collaboratively as part of a dedicated early years team. Key Responsibilities: Support the planning and delivery of engaging activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment that encourages children to learn through play and exploration. Support children’s learning and development across all areas of the EYFS curriculum. Observe, assess, and record children’s progress, contributing to learning journals and developmental records where appropriate. Build positive relationships with children, encouraging their social, emotional, and personal development. Support children’s independence, confidence, and communication skills through daily interactions and structured activities. Work closely with colleagues to ensure the individual needs of all children are met, including those with additional needs where appropriate. Prepare learning resources and help maintain an organised, welcoming, and engaging learning environment. Communicate effectively with parents and carers, sharing information about children’s progress and wellbeing. Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and welfare procedures at all times. Promote positive behaviour and model high standards of care and professionalism. Uphold the setting’s values and commitment to providing outstanding early years education. Pre-requisites: A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification is desirable. Previous experience working within an EYFS, nursery, or preschool setting is desirable. A sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach to supporting young children’s learning and development. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to build positive relationships with children, colleagues, and families. Good organisational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. A flexible, proactive, and positive attitude. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Two recent education or childcare-based references.
