As our operations grow, we are seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant with construction accounting experience to join our team.</p>
<p>The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of large-scale public works construction projects, with a focus on Accounts Payables and invoice processing. This position requires hands-on experience with construction accounting, particularly in union environments, and proficiency in Sage 300. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple financial tasks in a fast-paced setting.</p>

<p>Job Title: Staff Accountant – Construction<br />
Location: Bethpage, NY/Nassau County, NY<br />
Salary: $70,000- $80,000 +Bonus</p>
<p>Key Responsibilities:</p>
<p>Perform daily accounting functions including accounts payable, invoice processing, and bank reconciliations.<br />
Enter and cost-code invoices into Sage 300, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project budgets.<br />
Match invoices to purchase orders and packing slips for verification.<br />
Assist in preparing job cost reports and financial summaries for management.<br />
Collaborate with Project Managers and the Controller to ensure timely invoice approvals and payments.<br />
Support union payroll reporting and compliance documentation.<br />
Maintain organized records for audits and municipal reporting.<br />
Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status and documentation.<br />
Assist with special projects and financial analysis as directed by the Controller.</p>
<p>Qualifications:</p>
<p>3+ years of experience in construction accounting, preferably in public works or union environments.<br />
Strong proficiency in Sage 300 (Timberline) is required.<br />
Solid understanding of job cost accounting and project financial tracking.<br />
Excellent organizational and communication skills.<br />
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office software.<br />
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.</p>
