About the Role
Walsall Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our Children in Care Team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of vulnerable children and their families, ensuring they receive the support and care they need. As part of our dynamic team, you will work collaboratively with other professionals to deliver high-quality services to children in care, promoting their welfare and safeguarding their interests.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments and developing care plans for children in care.
Building trusting relationships with children, families, and other stakeholders.
Managing a caseload effectively, ensuring timely interventions and support.
Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to the development of safeguarding strategies.
Providing advice and guidance to foster carers and adoptive families.
To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
Registration with Social Work England.
Experience working within a children in care or similar social work setting.
Strong understanding of child protection legislation and safeguarding practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families.
